Il problema per band con un curriculum come quello dei Bad Religion, cose tipo venticinque anni di carriera e quattordici album all’attivo, è se dopo tutto questo tempo la loro proposta musicale possa ancora definirsi credibile.
Se andate a sbirciare il voto in calce capirete già come la penso, ma andiamo con ordine.

Le “nuove mappe dell’Inferno” sono ben sedici traccie che segnano una sorta di evoluzione nella continuità per l’accoppiata creativa Graffin-Gurewitz.
Perché se le vecchie abitudini dei cori scanditi a tre voci resistono ancora alla grande, ad esempio nell’anthem “Requiem for Dissent” così come nel singolo “Heroes & Martyrs”, si affiancano anche episodi più oscuri come “Before You Die”.
Ed il disco sembra deragliare dai binari più noti nel finale: una triade come “Lost Pilgrim”, “Submission Complete” e Fields of Mars” dimostra che questi due quasi cinquant’enni hanno ancora orecchie e cervello ben sintonizzati sull’attualità.

Scontato, ma doveroso, poi constatare come i testi del Prof.Greg siano come il vino, e si affinino col passare degli anni; del resto finché il tuo orizzonte narrativo sono i mali di questa società gli spunti narrativi non mancheranno mai.
Una costanza ed una coerenza che, in termini di popolarità, ha premiato sempre i nostri. Questi forse non saranno più i loro tempi ma la credibilità, quella vera, non è mai venuta loro meno.

se devo fare il "fan" do dieci senza discutere ogni uscita dei BR, del resto a me piace anche Into the Unknown... ma se devo scriverne allora devo cercare di essere più imparziale... e 7 mi sembrava equo. Resta il fatto che è un gran bel disco.
