DURACEL

Duracel are an Italian pop punk band from Meolo (Venice), active since 2003. With over twenty years behind them, they represent a solid and consistent presence in the Italian punk rock scene, built through countless shows, tours, and uncompromising releases.

After a long apprenticeship in venues across the Veneto region, in 2005 they won a contest for emerging bands, which led to the release of their debut album Decido io.
In the following years, the band played hundreds of shows, sharing the stage with key names in the Italian punk scene such as Derozer, Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, FFD, Cattive Abitudini, and L’Invasione degli Omini Verdi, as well as international acts like NOFX, Marky Ramone, The Queers, Teenage Bottlerocket, and The Apers.

In 2007 they signed with independent label Indiebox, releasing their second album Domani è come oggi. The record received positive reviews from magazines and webzines, including Rocksound, while their songs began appearing on numerous national and international punk compilations.

With the release of La fabbrica dei mostri, accompanied by the band’s first official video for “Non mi piace ballare”, Duracel were awarded Best Italian Punk Band in 2009 at the MEI – Meeting delle Etichette Indipendenti in Faenza.

Following the more mature Nati negli anni ’80, the band embarked on an extensive Italian tour and, in 2013, joined Derozer as official support on their reunion tour.

In the following years, the band members also explored parallel projects: in 2016, Zamu became a permanent member of Derozer, while Vale and Bocia joined The Italians, performing in 2018 at the Bowery Electric in New York during the tribute show for Joey Ramone’s birthday.

These experiences further shaped the band’s sound, making it faster and more direct, leading to the release of Supermarket in 2018, again via Indiebox.

After a few years of sporadic shows and secret gigs, Duracel are back with new material set to be released in an EP this spring. The new songs deal with themes such as crisis, marginalization, breakups, and shattered dreams—but also with the urge to start again from the real scene, from stages and the streets.

On September 5th, 2026, Punkadeka Festival will host the long-awaited return of Duracel: a highly anticipated reunion that will see them take the stage at Circolo Magnolia in Milan, celebrating their history and bringing their explosive punk rock energy back to life.
