FOR THE LIFE OF ME: Closure

[ITA]

I For The Life Of Me ce l’hanno fatta.

Seguono nell’ordine le tracce TV In My Head – Part II, Winter Sleep e Sung Out Of The Blue.

Sometimes you have to try hard in order to find the right combination, but success is not granted. Well, For The Life Of Me managed to do it: the project puts together four guys with miscellaneous musical backgrounds, going from emo (you can clearly recognize the influence of Balance And Composure) to Christian rock, until the gloomiest indie rock like that by The Appleseed Cast.

Anyway, they have something in common: they are all from Portland, Oregon, and it is almost impossible not to notice it. Have a look at the video of Eleven, opening track of their first EP Closure, which shows you the city in both its actual aspect and in its glorious past: a way to confirm the members’ origins while declaring their will to live their present lives – only after having defeated the specter of the past. The following tracks are TV In My Head – Part II, Winter Sleep and Sung Out Of The Blue.

The result? A short but intense trip through youth fears and anxieties, when paralyzing doubts and hard blows influence the choices you make in your life. A great post-hardcore EP with a peculiar personality, probably determined by the band’s nostalgia for the nineties. If you like the music by Make Do And Mend, just don’t miss it!
