Libidine Punk Rock were formed in 2021 from an idea by Giacomo Comandini (Jek), vocalist and bassist already active in the Romagna punk rock scene with Spaventapassere. The project immediately took shape around an imagery made of distorted romanticism, generational unease, and a direct, ironic, and visceral language, blending emotional urgency with a strong DIY attitude.
The first singles – Trash, La Merenda dei Campioni, 6 Fradicia and Teresa Casa e Chiesa – quickly defined the band’s identity, drawing attention within the new Italian punk scene. In 2023, the lineup was solidified with the addition of Luca Mascia (Liuk) on guitar and backing vocals, Nicolò Poli on guitar, and Andrea Pondini on drums. With this formation, live activity became immediate, intense, and constant, helping build a strong reputation on stage.
Tracks like Via Fratelli Rosselli and Anima Distorta marked a further step forward, establishing Libidine as one of the most interesting acts in the new Italian punk scene.
On May 17, 2024, the band released their debut album Romantico Lunatico Animale, recorded at Convolution Studio in Ravenna and produced by Luca Mascia. The record represents a mature synthesis of their sound: raw yet melodic, instinctive yet aware. The album won the PunkMI Awards 2024 for Best Album of the Year, strengthening the band’s position and opening the door to a tour across Northern and Central Italy and Switzerland.
On stage, Libidine Punk Rock fully express their identity: their shows are explosions of energy, fun, and boldness, built on a direct, fast, and no-frills punk rock approach. Their attitude is deliberately instinctive and “animalistic”, with a playful edge aimed at engaging the audience from the first to the last note.
Between songs, the band incorporates jokes and moments of interaction, making each live show unpredictable and highly engaging. Their setlists blend tracks from Romantico Lunatico Animale with new material and unreleased previews (such as Verde e Blu), constantly balancing fast hardcore energy, irony, and socially driven themes delivered with lightness. The result is a direct, genuine, and deeply punk show.
In May 2026, their second album is expected to be released via Interferenze, a Sicilian label connected to Decibel Record Store and led by Daniele Venti, a key figure in the Italian independent scene (formerly active with CSSP Records). A new chapter that promises to push the band’s sonic and narrative evolution even further, confirming their authentic and uncompromising attitude.
Libidine join the lineup of Punkadeka Festival 2026, ready to hit the stage with the energy and power that define their sound.
