TALCO, the most internationally recognized Italian punk-rock band and one of the most important acts in the contemporary scene, was formed in Marghera (Venice) in 2001. From the very beginning, they stood out for their unique style, defined by the band itself as punkchanka — an explosive fusion of punk-rock, ska, Mediterranean folk and Latin music that has made them a landmark in the European independent scene.
Over more than 20 years of career, TALCO have released numerous studio and live albums that trace the evolution of their sound and artistic vision: Tutti Assolti (2004), Combat Circus (2006), Mazel Tov (2008), La Cretina Commedia (2010) — a concept album dedicated to activist Peppino Impastato — as well as key releases such as Gran Galà (2012), Silent Town (2015), And the Winner Isn’t (2018), Locktown (2021) and Videogame (2022).
The band’s journey is deeply rooted in artistic independence and social commitment: their early works were distributed under Creative Commons licenses, and their lyrics address antifascist, antiracist and anticapitalist themes, while also exploring profound existential questions such as the concept of truth, human dignity and personal worth. TALCO are not just a band that spreads energy and fun: they are a critical and conscious voice analyzing the political drifts and fragilities of contemporary society.
Their music has won over an international audience thanks to an intense live activity: thousands of shows, numerous sold-out club and festival dates across Europe, with a constant presence at major European festivals, often as headliners, performing in front of massive crowds. The energy of their punkchanka style — highly engaging and unmistakable — turns every concert into a powerful, collective and participatory experience.
Over the years, TALCO have shared the stage with legendary punk acts such as NOFX, taking part in their 2024 final tour and demonstrating mutual respect between the bands. They are also the only Italian band to have taken part in the European Punk In Drublic tour alongside NOFX and Pennywise, further consolidating their role in the international punk-rock scene.
One of their most iconic songs, St. Pauli, has become a true anthem for the German football club FC St. Pauli, with whom the band shares a close bond and thanks to which they have performed several times at the Millerntor Stadium in Hamburg.
In 2024–2025, TALCO celebrate 20 years of career with a special tour and the release of a new live album featuring the best performances from the stage, sealing a story built on consistency, passion, independence and a deep connection with their audience.
TALCO are an international punk-rock band, enriched by a powerful horn section and folk and Latin influences, capable of raising their voice and shaking the whole of Europe with their music and message.
