Uguaglianza are a street punk band formed in 2001 in Varazze, in the province of Savona, Italy. From the very beginning, the band stood out for their direct and visceral sound, rooted in British street punk but filtered through a distinctly Italian attitude shaped by small-town stories, friendship, street life, and a strong sense of belonging.
In 2005, they released their debut album, Via Cairoli, produced by Steno of legendary Italian Oi! band Nabat. The record was well received within the underground scene and helped cement the band’s growing live reputation. Following the release, they embarked on an intense run of shows, sharing the stage with international and Italian acts such as GBH, The Queers, Klasse Kriminale, and many others, strengthening their presence across the European punk circuit.
From 2006, three members of the band also joined Nabat, playing with them for several years – an experience that further enriched their musical and personal journey. Despite these commitments, Uguaglianza continued developing their own path and, in 2009, released their second album, Nessuno mai ricorderà, distributed in Italy, France, Germany, and the United States. The record showcased a more mature songwriting approach and a refined production style, while maintaining the immediacy and raw energy that define the band.
In 2012, they released their third full-length album, Dalla strada, reaffirming their connection to their roots and taking them back on the road across Italy and Europe. During this period, they shared the stage with iconic bands such as The Damned, Agent Orange, Bull Brigade, Stage Bottles, and many more from the international punk and Oi! scene.
In 2013, they released what would be their final record before a long hiatus: the split Dalla stessa parte, featuring the single A testa alta, which quickly became one of the band’s most representative live anthems.
After ten years marked by concerts, lineup changes, and inevitable breaks, Uguaglianza returned in 2023 with Sogni persi, a four-track EP released exclusively by Motorcity Produzioni, who also handled the promotional tour. This comeback marked a new chapter for the band: the spirit remains true to their origins, but with renewed awareness and an even tighter, more powerful sound.
In the summer of 2025, to celebrate and honor their 25-year career, the band released the live album Punk 4 Raindogs, recorded at Raindogs House in Savona. The record captures the raw energy and impact of Uguaglianza’s live performances, featuring some of the most significant songs from their catalog and sealing a journey spanning a quarter of a century.
With over twenty-five years of activity, Uguaglianza have built a coherent and credible path, becoming a cornerstone of the Italian street punk scene thanks to their clear identity, strong bond with their audience, and an attitude that continues to put the street, memory, and pride of belonging at the center of their music.
